Anyone who is into Mobile phones will already know that Apple recently released a 3G version of the iPhone. Many people are wondering if it is worth upgrading. Well if you are after a faster internet surfing experience then yes.

Web pages and your email attachments load twice as fast on 3G networks as opposed to EDGE networks.

You will always get the fatest surfing experience as the iPhone 3G seamlessly switches between EDGE, the faster 3G and even faster Wi-Fi.

The awesome thing about the 3G technology is the fact you can multi task. The iPhone itself lets you multi task when you’re connected to a wifi spot, but using 3G you can now multi task in more places as 3G networks enable simultaneous data and voice, you can be talking on your iPhone while surfing the web, checking email or using Maps. All this from your 3G mobile network - Wow!

Also with iPhone 3G you can make calls and surf the web from practically anywhere in the world as it meets worldwide standards for mobile communications. Even if you’re in an area without a 3G network, the iPhone still connects you via GSM for calls and EDGE for data.

The 3G iphone comes with the new Version 2 software which has lots of knew features like, maps and microsoft exchange. With Microsoft Exchange you get push email, contacts and calendars and with Maps you  can find your current location, get directions and track your route with GPS.

One of the greatest talking points is the Ability to download 3rd party applications and games directly from the App Store. Downloading applications to iPhone is easy. Just tap the App Store icon, browse to whatever categories you’re interested in, then download your purchases wirelessly of course. Many are even free for you to download. Once you own an application, the App Store automatically notifies you when there’s an update - how cool is that!

Of course you can still personalize your iPhone by changing the picture which appears on the home page when your phone is locked - this is called the iphone wallpaper on the phone itself but many people no these pictures as iphone desktops and iphone backgrounds as well.
